Pharmaceutical chemistry

The department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is involved in engaging theory and practical in the subjects of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemistry ,Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical In-organic Chemistry for the undergraduate students in the Four-year B. Pharm course.

The subject broadly deals with practical aspects such as estimation of Blood / Serum sample, synthesis of inorganic and medicinal compounds, Qualitative and Quantitative analysis, Assay of formulations& recent techniques of drug designs , Molecular docking demonstrations). Thus, course content confers students to proceed with higher studies and research projects with the thorough knowledge. The syllabus is supported with the guidance/ seminar lecture by the experts from academia and industry.

The laboratories are well equipped with the instruments such as Potentiometer, Polarimeter, Refractometer, pH Meter etc. charts, 3D molecular models & essential chemicals so as students get introduce with these fundamental subjects.

The department is committed to deliver skills in: isolating drugs from natural sources; their synthetic modification; qualitative and quantitative analysis; impurity detection and quantification; developing newer and greener methods of synthesis and isolation and biological evaluation of the synthesized / isolated compounds.
